STIB. Executive Interpreting
Global summits and conferences

The interpreter in the room, wherever the summit is.

Climate conferences, G20 meetings, trade summits and international congresses move from country to country. STIB moves with your delegation.

Straight answer

STIB provides interpreters for delegations, governments, companies and NGOs at international summits and conferences worldwide. Founded in São Paulo in 2007, with more than 2,500 assignments delivered, STIB has interpreters and equipment on the ground in Brazil and the United States, sends interpreters to events in other countries on request, subject to availability, and runs remote simultaneous interpreting worldwide. The official sessions are interpreted by the organiser; STIB covers the bilaterals, side events, pavilions, press and site visits around them.

One executive interpreter can follow a minister or CEO through the whole agenda; a booth team covers panels and side events. Our network covers more than 40 languages with over 80 certified interpreters, Portuguese, English and Spanish are our core pairs, and the terminology is agreed with you before the first session.

Track record

Official delegations, four countries

STIB was the official interpreting team for Brazil's delegation at four editions of WorldSkills: United Kingdom 2011, Leipzig 2013, São Paulo 2015 and Abu Dhabi 2017. The same way of working — one team, briefed in advance, across every venue of the programme — applies to any international summit.

Summit interpreting: questions we are asked

Does STIB work outside Brazil and the United States?

Yes. STIB is headquartered in São Paulo and has interpreters and equipment on the ground in several Brazilian and US cities. For summits and conferences elsewhere, interpreters travel to the event on request, subject to availability, and remote simultaneous interpreting is available worldwide.

What does STIB interpret at an international summit?

The meetings a delegation or company organises itself: bilateral and business meetings, pavilion panels, side events, press interviews, receptions and site visits. Official plenary sessions at UN and G20 events are interpreted by the organiser's own service.

How far ahead should interpreters be booked for a major summit?

As early as the delegation's dates are known. Major summits concentrate demand for experienced conference interpreters into the same few days, and early booking leaves time to prepare glossaries and briefing material. Short-notice requests are still scoped as they arrive, subject to availability.

The event, the dates, the languages and the meetings on your agenda. You get a scoped proposal from the team that will run it.
