STIB. Executive Interpreting
COP31 · Antalya · 9–20 November 2026

Interpreters for COP31 in Antalya.

The UN interprets the negotiating rooms. Your bilateral meetings, pavilion panels, side events, press interviews and site visits are yours to staff. STIB puts the interpreter in those rooms — on-site in Antalya or remotely.

Straight answer

STIB provides interpreters for delegations, companies, sub-national governments and NGOs at COP31, the 2026 UN Climate Change Conference in Antalya, Türkiye (9–20 November 2026). The UNFCCC covers interpretation for the official sessions in the six UN languages; everything a delegation or company organises itself — bilaterals, pavilion panels, side events, press and site visits — needs its own interpreters. STIB staffs those settings on-site in Antalya on request, subject to availability, or by remote simultaneous interpreting for hybrid events.

Where you need us

The rooms the UN does not interpret

Most of the deals, partnerships and announcements at a COP happen outside the plenary.

Bilateral and business meetings

Consecutive or whispered interpreting for ministers, governors, CEOs and investors meeting counterparts between sessions — one interpreter who follows the delegation's agenda all day.

Pavilion panels and side events

Simultaneous interpreting with booths or portable equipment for country and corporate pavilions, launches and panels, planned with the venue's technical team.

Press, site visits and receptions

Interpreting for interviews, press conferences, field visits and working dinners, plus translation of statements, speeches and releases before they go out.

Languages

Portuguese, English, Spanish — and the rest of the room

STIB was founded in São Paulo in 2007, and Portuguese, English and Spanish are its core pairs — a fit for Brazilian and Latin American delegations, states and companies arriving in Antalya after COP30 in Belém, and for international teams meeting them. The network covers more than 40 languages with over 80 certified interpreters. Climate finance, carbon markets, energy transition, agribusiness and mining terminology is agreed with you before the first session.

How it works

From brief to booth

1. Send the brief

Dates, the languages, the format of each meeting (bilateral, panel, press, visit), the zone (Blue or Green) and the number of participants.

2. Scoped proposal

You get a proposal with the team, the mode of interpreting for each setting and the equipment, if any. Travel to Antalya is built into the assignment when it is scoped.

3. Preparation under NDA

Speeches, slides, position papers and glossaries go to the interpreters in advance. Everything is handled under NDA.

4. On the day

The interpreter works on-site in Antalya or remotely over Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Webex for hybrid side events and remote participants.

Straight answers

COP31 interpreting: questions we are asked

Does the UN provide interpreters for everyone at COP31?

The UNFCCC secretariat provides interpretation for the official negotiating sessions in the six UN languages. Bilateral meetings, pavilion panels, side events, press interviews, business meetings and site visits organised by delegations, companies or NGOs are outside that service, so the organiser brings its own interpreters.

When and where is COP31?

COP31, the 2026 UN Climate Change Conference, is scheduled for 9 to 20 November 2026 at the Antalya Expo Center in Antalya, Türkiye. Türkiye hosts the conference and Australia leads the negotiations.

Which languages can STIB cover at COP31?

STIB's core pairs are Portuguese, English and Spanish, and its network covers more than 40 languages, including French, Turkish, Arabic and Chinese. Tell us the pairs and the setting in the brief and we confirm the team for your dates.

Is it too late to book interpreters for COP31?

Short-notice requests are scoped as they arrive, subject to availability. Sending the dates, the languages, the format of each meeting and any briefing material on the same day you contact us gives the best chance of placing the right interpreter. Remote interpreting is often the fastest option for hybrid side events.
